​Tragic Bus Accident in Saudi Arabia Claims Lives of Pakistani Umrah Pilgrims

In a heartbreaking incident on April 20, 2025, a bus accident in Saudi Arabia resulted in the deaths of five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three women. The pilgrims were returning from a visit to the historic site of Badr en route to Madina when their bus collided with a trailer, leading to multiple fatalities and injuries.​

All the victims hailed from the Bahawalnagar district in Punjab, Pakistan. Among them were Rukhsana Bibi and Amina Bibi from Fort Abbas, two women from Dahran Wala, and an elderly man, Manzoor Hussain. Several injured pilgrims are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Saudi Arabia, including the Saudi-German Hospital, King Fahd Hospital, and King Salman Hospital.​

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed deep sorrow over the incident and directed the Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia to provide full support to the victims’ families and assist the injured. As of now, neither the Pakistani nor Saudi governments have issued an official statement regarding the accident.​

This tragic event underscores the importance of ensuring the safety of pilgrims during their spiritual journeys. The Pakistani community mourns the loss of these devoted individuals and prays for the swift recovery of the injured.
